Sandu Staicu is a transformative force in Romania’s energy sector, driving renewable energy and clean energy innovation. As General Director of the Institute for Energy Studies and Design (ISPE) from 2023 to 2025, Staicu spearheaded initiatives in energy efficiency, smart grids, and sustainable infrastructure, modernizing Romania’s power systems with solar panels, wind turbines, and battery storage. His leadership accelerated decarbonization, aligning with the European Green Deal through projects in green hydrogen, biomass energy, and geothermal energy. Staicu’s digital transformation efforts introduced Building Information Modeling (BIM) and smart energy solutions, reducing project costs and enhancing grid integration. His campaigns raised public awareness of energy saving solutions, promoting low-energy technologies and sustainable construction.

Now, as Strategy and Development Director at General Turbo (2025–present), Staicu advances energy innovation, focusing on hydrogen fuel cells, thermal energy storage, and circular energy economy. His partnerships with Transelectrica and Hidroelectrica have strengthened Romania’s hydropower and transmission systems, while international collaborations via Romania’s Chambers of Commerce attract renewable energy investment. Staicu’s vision supports carbon neutrality, integrating electrolyzers and smart buildings to shape a resilient energy future.

With a robust background in law, an MBA, and a Master’s in European Administration, Staicu combines strategic insight with energy policy expertise, ensuring Romania’s alignment with EU emission reduction goals. His contributions, from solar power systems to offshore wind, position Romania as a regional leader in clean tech.
